Best decision of my life!

Heller peeps!
Today has been a hard day for me. I've had  2 different sources talk with me about the previous place we lived. Before we moved to the fabulous Bama, we lived in Webster County in Kentucky.
Family situations in Kentucky were not good. Abuse (mental, and occasionally physical) was going on from extended family members. It wasn't good, we hated it, we left. End of that...
Ok, so we packed up the necessities from the house late one February night (2008), and moved into the house we currently live in. When we left we knew we were NOT going back. We were miserable, why go back?
If something happens to both my parents today, God forbid, I will take care of my brother and sister. I would be the legal guardian for them, and that would be a role I would not hesitate to fill.  We will NOT be moving back. I requested everything be changed so the day I turned 18 (December18, 2011) , I would be their legal guardian in the case of both parents death. Mom and dad talked, and decided that was the best option. They have everything planned out if something happens. I would NEVER move my siblings back into that, and I know that is not what mom and dad would want. THERE IS A ZERO PERCENT CHANCE WE WILL MOVE BACK.
The only physical ties we have with Kentucky is our house. When we left, selling the house was the least of our worries. But we still do own a house there. We will go back one day, clean it out, and give it away. Yes, give it away. Mom and dad have discussed giving it to the Lord. People who need to know what that means, will. We do not own the land it was built on, so we are not able to sell it, but we don't foresee people living in it in the future.
My parents made the decision to change their entire lives because they were not happy. Since the day my parents moved us, they have repeatedly told us to be happy and if we weren't to change it. (This is something we strive to live by daily)
Back to the story, so everyone has asked us when we are coming back.... Lemme just tell ya.. WE AIN'T! :)
Bama is our home. We've never been happier. We have NO drama. Do you have any idea how amazing a drama free life feels? I sure do!!
My parents moving us 200 miles from that (excuse the french) hell-hole, was the BEST thing they've ever done.
While driving to class today I was thinking about how thankful I was for the move. I am beyond proud of us. We did what everyone in Webster thought we could not do. We go out of there. We made it.
Neither of my parents had an easy childhood (including teenage years) and they, like most parents, wanted better for their own children. I can say with complete confidence they have given us more than we could have ever wanted. They have been the most amazing, supportive parents. They would give up anything to make sure we didn't do without. I'll admit, I'm a spoiled brat. I have more (of everything) then I could possibly use. That hasn't always been the case. My parents have worked for everything they have ever had, despite what may be thought. I am beyond proud to be Aundrea and Dwayne Towery's daughter.
All in all, my family is amazing, and leaving Kentucky was the best decision we have ever made. We are happy, stable, and NEVER MOVING BACK!

Sugar cookies!

Hey guys:)
I have been in the mood for cookies lately. 2 nights ago I baked chocolate chip cookies, that were good but the recipe needed adjusting some. I was going to attempt and make them again tonight, but we were out of chocolate chips (Thanks dear brother of mine for eating them). So, I got online and found an amazing sugar cookie recipe.
Here it is:

Ingredients:
1/3 cup margarine
2/3 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. Mix margarine and powdered sugar together thoroughly.
3. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until blended. Add dry ingredients and blend well.
4. Shape dough into 24 one-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Crisscross balls by using fork prongs.
5. Bake until lightly brown, about 10 minutes.
I got the recipe from: Here
I doubled the recipe in the hopes there would be enough for my boyfriend to try tomorrow. We usually go through cookies quite quickly. My sister decided we needed to make them into shapes, so we got our cookie press out and used it!
Then I decided I wanted to add some icing. Around Christmas, my mom always makes Christmas tree cookies with green icing.
I asked my mom her recipe and she said:
  1. Half a bag of powered sugar
  2. 1 stick of butter softened (If you don't lay it out ahead of time, melt it in the microwave for 5 seconds, any longer and it will melt, and the cookies won't come out right)
  3. Vanilla
  4. Add drops of food coloring, if desired
Now, my mom doesn't measure when cooking, so you'll have to try the proportions out for yourself, I did.
This is the turn out:
This is the final outcome, the icing didn't go on so well. I judge the cookies on taste, not appearance!

This is what the flower cookie press made

This is the Christmas tree my mom always makes!

I love cookies!

Alright y'all, I'm off here. Time to get a bath, and get in bed!
Thanks so much for reading!!

Sick?

Hey y'all. I'm SOO sorry I haven't posted anything on here in months.
That really wasn't my intention.

For the past 2 months, I have been sleeping like crazy.

My mother has iron deficiency amenia due to a disease called Von Willebrand. (I promise this is relevant) Her body makes VERY little iron, and she has to have iron infusions every time she loses any blood. My mom can tell her iron is getting low by symptoms that show up. She gets very sleepy, eats ice chips (pika) and  has a low appetite.
I was showing all of those signs, and her thoughts went immediately to my iron being low.
I have given blood at the American Red Cross 4 times in the past 8 months. Then I never slowed down to recuperate. My body didn't make it's iron back.
I went to the family doctor, and told him my symptoms, and mom explained her iron worries. He immediately ordered a round of blood work, and three days later we had the results. My iron is very, very low! The doctor prescribed me iron pills to take twice a day, with orange juice, for 3 months. The iron has horrible side effects. It kills my stomach. I have to take another medicine to help with the stomach pain. It's not nice, but if it will make my energy level rise, I'm for it!
That just means I won't be on here for a while.
I honestly don't even have the energy to do homework.
I'm so sorry guys.

July Jackpots!

Hey! It's time for "favorites" of the month again! I do not like calling a video a favorite video just because everyone does them. I like to come up with what I think are cute little names for the favorites videos! This month is July Jackpots!

First product:
This is the E.LF. Stipple brush. I use it for cream blush, and it applies wonderfully. It is not a dense brush, so applying liquid foundation is out of the question.
Cost- $3.00

I haven't been sure on whether or not I was a fan of this particular product. I've always felt the bronzer was too dark for me, and the blush didn't do anything for my skin tone. I've recently became the tannest I have ever been, and decided to give the duo a second chance, and I like the bronzer. I still feel the blush doesn't suit me. The bronzer is very brown, as the NYC in Sunny is more orange. I use this to contour my cheeks.
Cost- $3.00

Again with the E.L.F! This is the last ELF product! As with most ELF products, I am quite skeptical when I receive them. I test these products along side my drugstore, and the few high end products I own. I do really like this. I use it to set my under eye concealer.  I half the supplied puff, and roll it under my eye, then dust off with a soft brush.
Cost- $6.00

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder... There isn't much I haven't already said about this. I LOVE this. It is a holy grail product for me. I use to apply it with my ELF powder brush, but I found I applied too much powder, so I press the puff into the powder now. I went up a few shades this summer. I am now in Honey!
Cost- $7.00
Available- Drugstores

Time for the Sephora face brush! It's amazing. It makes my skin feel amazing. I rub my face wash all over my face, then scrub the brush in small circular motions around my face, then rinse. If you have a Sephora near you, pick this up!!
Cost- $5.00
Available- Sephora or sephora.com

It's the Tresemme  Fresh Start dry shampoo. I didn't see a point in dry shampoo's until recently. During the summer, I spend most of my days outside, swimming and well.... I tend to break out in a sweat in 100 degree weather. When I sweat, I like to wash my hair,  I think it's only natural. I've been washing it every day, and I know that isn't healthy. There are a few days where I want to skip washing it daily, but my hair retain so much oil. That's where the dry shampoo comes in. I spray this on my roots, and it instantly removes all the oil and greasy shine!
Cost- $5.00
Available- Drugstores

Time for my favorite summer eyeliner! I was looking for a bright blue eyeliner for my waterline, and I found an amazing one! It's the Sephora retractable waterproof eyeliner in 04 blue. I love the color, the formula, and the staying power! This does not come off all day. I don't touch it up. This is another amazing buy!
Cost- $12
Available- Sephora or sephora.com

Clinique bottom lash mascara! I always thought "A bottom lash mascara, what a waste of money, the regular ones work!" I was WRONG! I heard MeganRosette rave about this, and one day at Sephora, I seen this small size at the checkout, and knew I had to have it. I love it!! I will continue to rebuy this time and time again!
Cost- $10-$17
Available- Clinique counters, or sephora

Biolage Age Rejuvenating conditoner, I love it. It makes my hair so smooth and soft! If you wash your hair often, have color treated hair, or are hard on your hair, this is for you! I shampoo, rinse, then apply this to my hair, mid shaft to the ends, wait a few minutes, and rinse. Its amazing.

Ok guys! I do believe that is all! I'm headed to sleep. I'm very tired.
Goodnight y'all!
Kaileen
